Riding in style
We have been looking to upgrade our stroller for about two weeks now. There was a lady who was selling a used one on Craigslist but it was from North Carolina so we would have had to pay a shipping cost of about $85, I think. Well, we still would have saved over a new one. We currently have the Chariot Cougar 2. If you have small children and are thinking about purchasing a stroller/bike trailer/jogging stroller/hiking stroller/skiing trailer, Chariot is the best! Anyway, we wanted to upgrade to the CX2 because they added some new features that make it more comfortable for child and parents. Yesterday, Ken decided to look online for bike shops in Portland that were selling to compare prices. REI, no, you can't use your 20% off coupon for special orders. They lost out on this one, I don't know if I'll shop there anymore after this. Other bike shops, no, don't carry them. Bike Gallery-Jackpot! A brand new one that was way cheaper than the usual price and they were having a sale-10% off also. At first, they wouldn't let us buy it right away, because the sale didn't start until Thursday. But, another call back after checking around to some other stores, and they decided to let us get it. So, we quickly packed up, called some friends to help us try it out on Sprinwater bike path, and made it to the store about 20 minutes before closing. We had been praying about this and thinking over it for a long time. So, it was nice to get such a blessing to get the new one with better features than last years model. I just feel a little sorry for the lady trying to sell hers after all the work she has done trying to find out shipping costs for me and sending pictures, answering questions, etc. She says she has someone else willing to buy, so I think it will work out OK. These strollers sell well and also hold their value. So, if anyone is interested in a used Chariot Cougar 2, let us know:) BTW, he always has his foot in his mouth, just like his Dad. Shoe leather tastes good.
